Join Us for the Light on the Hill

24 Hour Challenge

September 25, 2018

The Light on the Hill Society Scholarship was established over a decade ago to help support first-year African-American student enrollment at Carolina. Tax-deductible contributions have ranged from a few dollars to a landmark $350,000 gift from UNC alumnus and NFL star Julius Peppers ’02.

Administered by the Light on the Hill Society Board of Directors and the UNC General Alumni Association, to date, over 75 scholarships have been awarded, and we are aiming for more.

Our goal on Sept. 25: Raise $100,000 in 24 hours. Another BIG goal for an even BIGGER reason – to increase the number of scholarships that help deserving African-Americans achieve their dream of attending and graduating from Carolina.
